Yang first came across the Little Fir Foundation while pursuing his MBA at New York University. He attended one of the fundraising concerts organized by the foundation and was excited to finally find an organization that he trusts and helps underprivileged children in China. Yang's grandmother is a teacher. Education has always been a top priority in his childhood. He truly believes that education is the best route for most of the underprivileged children to escape poverty and realize their dreams. Yang came to the United States at a young age and attended high school and college in New York. He works in finance and is a CFA charter holder. He currently lives in New York with his wife and their sons, Luke and Will.
